Indeed, what a wonderful picture....
a question: on the far left hand margin of the picture, just above the MidA roof there are two white cars parked. The athletics track used be there... Has it gone? Has running around the track about 30 times to complete the 10000m now become a thing of the past...?

Long gone - it's a car park now.Exiled_in_Rome wrote:Indeed, what a wonderful picture....

Ah yes, I used to run around the cinder track... the mile and high jump were my speciality.. (sounds a bit like the punishments I used to get!)

yep.. that certainly is a big car-park.. to be honest, I can't remember parking problems ever being a major issue at CH in my day, but perhaps things have changed.. and then again, living in Rome for the past few years, perhaps I have a somewhat different perspective on what constitutes a "parking problem"...
ah yes.. the cinder track.... whilst the discus and javelin were always entertaining, I can never remember a moment when I was particularly happy to be on the track... and I do remember JED throwing the most incredible tantrum when PeB decided to boycott the relays by walking most of the races... he called about 30 of us into his study afterwards.. I can't remember his precise words, but I do remember that he was remarkably unamused

One more...
The vehicle in the field beyond the cricket pitches (in line with the white screens) was the launch site.
John.

Thanks..Mrs C. wrote:Superb pictures!
You certainly had the best weather for it!
I waited since last November to arrange the flight. - Waited for the leaves to appear on the trees and the good weather.
We had both..
I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to the school for allowing us to launch from the grounds. Everybody on board really enjoyed the view.
(Not many pupils around at the time, I guess they were all hunched over their keyboards... although there were a couple on the other side of one of the cricket sight screens... that took me back a few years.. ah!)
