They have just opened an Aston Martin franchise in Amersham (today).

Within 2 miles I could buy an Aston Martin, a Jeep, a Jag, a Lotus, and and Audi or VW.

5 miles away Beaconsfield has BMW and Mercedes. (and Honda)

for a Vauxhall I have to go to the far side of Chesham (8 miles)
For a Ford I have to go to Watford or Wycombe (10 miles)

Now just what does that say about Amersham?

A gorgeous village where the girls played footy recently.

Midsommer Country. Home of Sketchley's. (An 'in' Dorking joke !)

I'm with Mid A 15 on this one......as long as it gets from A to B

but, picking up on previous entries:

my first car was a Mini Clubman Estate, my favourite so far was a 73 VW camper and I suppose I'd quite like an Aston DB7...

air con just makes you feel hotter when you get out

i got a/c but dont use it

open the window

enjoy the breeze

and please enjoy the warm weather

I am sure you will still be complaining just as bitterly when it gets cold

If I open a window my hair blows in my face and I can't see. the blower is pretty efficient though and not using aircon increases mpg.

I am doing test runs at the moment to check by how much.

My previous car did about 400 miles to a tank before the warning light went on. However if I used the air con that would go down to 300.

I only did that once :!:

I only used the aircon if it was exceptionally hot. Otherwise I drove with one or more windows open.

I've yet to use the aircon in my current car.

If you have a newish car Air con should only use 1x 10th of a gallon - which is actually better than increasing your air co-efficient by driving with the windows open ... as every open window causes turbulence and decreases the car's ability to drive smoothly through the air - hence all the stupid idiots who were driving around with flags on their cars - lost tons of fuel doing it and heated up the temperature around them! Not to mention the global warming by the relase of CO2.....

If you can stand it keep the blower on high and pointing upwards, as hot air rises, therefore as it cools with the blower it will drop slowly onto you (cool air that is) - air con may make you feel the heat when you get out of the car, but when you are in a car, at temperatures over 30C and in a traffic jam going nowhere, it's a good feeling.

ANd no, I don't complain about the cold - infact I can't wait for a decent winter! I like those that have lots of freezing air and snow, not the wet dreary ones that WE ALL MOAN about! Plus air con in winter is now used in most cars (called climate control) to de-mist windows etc.... and to be effective you should use your air con at least once every month for about 5 mins......

Also, air con cools the equipment down so you can actually hold the steering wheel and use the gear stick - learnt that in USA - we would open the car, switch on engine then air con and shut the door for about 5 mins !

NEVER TRY STARTING YOURCAR WITH THE AIR CON ALREADY ON! IT damamges the motor of the air con unit and causes undue stress on the car's engine as it starts up.!

Where does all this come from?????????
