Does that mean you are a Simon Scarrow fan Midget? I find he has a very easy style of writing. That is just perfect when you don't want anything too weighty.

The Bootle Bumtrinket (just incase that doesn't pass the word filter: The Bootle Threeletterwordforbottom-trinket :-).

I went to the house in the book in 1984 while on holiday on Corfu. It was still fairly isolated then but I expect it has been over-run by tourists by now.
I haven't been to Corfu since the late 70s, when it was beautiful: hope it still is.

I began to read Lawrence Durrell's work post Uni (first time around), and found it very hard to equate the author with his youngest brother's descriptions of him.

The book is delightful, but titled 'My Family and Other Animals' - The B Bt is the name given to youngest brother's dinghy by his older siblings.

To promote greater understanding of the diversity of the peoples that populate this planet of ours, maybe we all ought be reading the significant texts of the world's major and minor religions. That would keep everyone quiet for a while!

I feel I did too much of that already

I got quite religious as a kid and decided to read the Bible cover to cover

I got to the end of Deutoronomy and realised this was only going to make me ill...

I have been given a copy of the Quoran (there are dozens of spellngs for this) by the local Imam and I have tried reading it but I have to do it little bit by little bit as it is rather heavy going

All that begatting makes the bible a bit racy in some respects

Check out The Song of Solomon

It's really erotic

And rather beautiful

The Victorian Bibles left it out
