I'm trying to keep up - but what are we talking about here ???
Is 'garden' a euphamism?
No ! I think you'll find its a sort of open air place with flowers and grass and vegetables in it.

That's a fish, isn't it?
Anyway, the topic was addressed to Mid A 15 as he was the person who was most insistent about my imagined resemblance to Mr. Titchmarsh.

So just to set the record straight, how would you describe yourself then Richard?

How do you want me to describe myself, apart from
not looking like Alan bleedin' Titchmarsh?
If you're really curious, there are 'then and now' pictures on the CHA website:
http://www.chassociation.org/contacts/advisoryboard.php
You'll see that I'm a tad larger than I used to be (partly through giving up smoking, partly through encroaching middle age), but I really don't think I've acquired the 'celebrity gardener' look!

what do you mean - approaching middle age?
I reckon you're already there.
And for the record - I don't think you look like him
You're too big and hairy.
(unless you've changed a lot...)

Well, yes to the middle age bit!
I think you last saw me about 4 or 5 years ago - I haven't changed all that much.

Just seen your photo Richard. The photo of you in your buttons brought some memories flooding back. For some reason, the clearest picture of you I have in my head is the abject boredom on your face as we formed up for lunch parade.
Perhaps it is just me but I don't see the Titchmarsh similarity, I do see a similarity to a jazz musician but I will be damned if I can remember his name

That's an interesting memory!
Given that I was in the band, I never used to march in to lunch with Mid.B very often- perhaps on days when the bugle band were playing, I suppose.

You got it in one Richard.
I used to envy the band, you were actually doing something rather than just hanging around all the time
I wasnt good enough on clarinet, besides I gave it up after being stuck with "the vicar of Bray" for weeks on end. I still hate that tune.

having looked at the pictures - I have this to say......
I can understand why JR etc say you look like Alan Titchmarsh - you have a similar facial structure, a mop of hair and the grin that is halfway to a smile as you don't want to say Cheese!
DBTS - you have a very old picture there - and that isn't at all what you look like today... nor is your avatar - you need to update your picture really as this is a public domain.
Julian - you are not at all how I imagined you! That was the biggest shock!
Ditto Simon - again I had a very different picture of you - I suppose I was thinking you were not long gone from CH!
