Oh dear.. I am having (technical) trouble. Can anyone help? I might just be plodding through retyping my 55 pages after all!

I used the University's scanner and the files came out in Adobe acrobat, so I then resaved them into Microsoft Word. Unfortunately Microsoft Word only sees the individual pages as 'pictures' and I can't manipulate the text at all. Back in the pdf files, I can't use the 'text tool', either.

Anyone got any ideas... :? :?

To be able to edit you probably need a full version of Adobe Acrobat, not just the Reader.

I have found some OCR software which I can try. If you email me a page
or two I'll have a go.

Will PM my email, as I suspect these messages are searchable by spambots.

Thanks. I can't do much at the moment I am afraid. I bought the files home on a USB flash drive.. but my laptop won't recognise it! Mary has already offered....and I had to say to her that it will probably be Tuesday now before I send her a page (when I get back to work.)
Will keep you posted
