Not to worry, Jo. Old Blues easily get led astray.

Yes, I felt a bit guilty about going off topic again!
Yes, most unusual on this forum

I apologised to them and asked if they minded me taking the photo, while they were there --due to me being an "Elderly man" --- -- This resulted in all of us having a fit of giggles,as we discussed the Charges, in which I might be brought to Court ! ---- How refreshing a sense of Humour -- I do hope that they will retain it after they leave CH
Hi there! I was one of these two girls, and we are in fact two of the youngest generation of old blues, having left in July 08!
I'm glad you got your photo and enjoyed your day!!

In fact, are we in the photo at all?

For K.V. Taylor ------ I thought you were about G.E. stage -- I hope that is a compliment !
If you send me a " Private Message" -- giving me your Email address, I will send you a copy of the incriminating Photo.

Pause to think ---- Have I got myself into further embarassment, by this suggestion ?

Let's face it -- at 81, I just don't care any more ! I can always plead the excuse of Dementia----- :mutley:

... and Kirsty you were still there when I walked by, and when I walked by back again. I thought you were stuck to the seat.

well, I liked OBs day as it seemed to have hurried Joshua (no, not the ginger one!) along!

Good to have it on a Saturday too...

It would be better to have the main chapel service later in the day but I understand why it wasn't for the schola thing... (I had gone home by then!)

I still think it needs to be better communicated to YOBs - I always post an event on facebook when I hear about it and for many, this is the first they have heard about it!

Also, I abhor the ridiculous nature of the campfire not being allowed to have current kids up in the woods after about 9 because not all OBs have CRB forms... where does this stop - and I speak as a Group Scout Leader!

Look, Matt, he's ginger. I know it's hard to face but it's true. Sorry. You have a ginger son. Called Joshua. Sad times.

Aaaaanyway, I have finally uploaded my paltry photo collection from the day to Facebook! Here is the public link:

If anyone wants an original-size version of any of the photos, please do email me!

I have TWO CRBs and am an ex-Group Scout Leader, However -- since mine are for a) Sunday School and b) Elderly People,
Neither would be any good for " Blues in the Woods"
It may be of interest to note that although I was Chairman of Governors of a First School --- I never was required to have a CRB ----- Why ? --- because I had been a Governor there since the early Foundation of the school, and therefore "Didn't need one " !! ------ I could have been a raging Psychopath Paedophile from the start (I'm not -- you will be glad to know !)
The whole system -- as with many others, is to raise money. A teacher moving from one school to another -- in the same Village, requires a new CRB. A Sunday School Teacher moving Churches in the same Village -- the same !
CRBs are neccessary and essential, but the Burocrats have taken over and found it is an easy way to make money.

As with so much of this Government ---despite which, it is in mountainous DEBT !

End of rant --- but really ---- ! :soapbox:

I love the facepaint pictures, Josh!
I am really sorry that I didn't make it to the Grecians fundraising thing (can't remember what it was called) - and I had to admit the same to Mr. Bawtree when he caught up with me later in the day. I hope it all went well and that you raised sufficient dosh to support your legacy to the school?
(PS I am the unknown and unannounced Hertford Old Blue who thrust JR's message under your nose, when you were with Mr and Mrs Plum and the Bump Yet To Be Born, prior to the Chapel service. I am still kicking myself for not actually having the courtesy to tell you who I am! CH used to breed such reticence. Hopefully it's not the same these days.)

I am still so sorry I didn't make it down.

The last 3 weeks have been terribly hectic, footy-wise !

The good news is that yesterday afternoon, Dorking FC were promoted to the CCL Premier Division without having to even kick a ball.

Farleigh beat Knaphill 3-2, thereby promoting Dorking. Most of our team and management team were there to watch it.

(p.s. The headache has now gone after eventually awakening this morning at 11:30 am - A good time was had by all ! !
