You are all, probably, too young to remember, but the same comments were made about the sainted (Now) Geoffrey Boycott --- selfish, running others out, etc etc . Perhaps KP will be retired to being an "Expert" in the commentary box ! !
Meanwhile, he still makes runs !

Not at all too young to remember St. Geoffrey, Neill! I love listening to Aggers winding him up on TMS. KP as an "expert"? Perish the thought! :!:

Barry Faulkner of Doncaster has a similar view of Boycott, that's all.

are going to be retained by Australia.

The ball was swinging but the English batting was largely woeful all the same.

A masterpiece of understatement there.

all over with then!

as its now 1-1 what happens in the oval is a draw?

I personally think they need to look at the middle order, i dont think Bopra has had 1 good inning yet

Australia, as the current holders, retain the ashes if The Oval test is a draw.

Although in practice they stay at Lords regardless of nominal holder.

Bopara is a decent bat but number 3 is not the place for him. We lack a natural number 3. I admit to bias, being a Kent fan, but I would play Fat Bob, more familiarly known as Rob Key, at The Oval. He is not a number 3 either but as an opener would supply the grafting qualities so lacking in both English innings of this test match.

I have definately gone OFF the sainted Geoffrey B.
Having listened to his comments, during the 7.15pm re-play on channel 5 ---
He did nothing but carp on about the batting of Broad and Swann -- both of whom took the Aussies to task -- and provided some entertainment in a lost cause.
Geoffrey would have attempted to get 500 runs in singles ---- until he ran out of partners ---
and I mean -- "RAN OUT !"

Divorce from TBA may be imminent --- watch this space

You and I need to meet for a commiseration beer. Both a Charlton Supporter and a Kent fan! I was at the 1967 Gillette Cup final at Lords when Kent beat Somerset.

At least my beloved Chelski took the Charity Shield yesterday beating Manchester United, albeit on penalties.

Nice to see Sir Alexandria Funguson immediately moaning, YET AGAIN, in the press this morning.

"It was all Chelsea's and the referees fault that Man U didn't win !"

No change there, then :?: :?:
