Odd that I never do then - I remember it as two family wedding anniversaries - my brother's when Maria was a bridesmaid, and my brother-in-law's when Kirri was a bridesmaid. What an odd coincidence!

9 Years ago (25th anniversary) I worked in a small office and it was the 20th anniversary of the woamn I worked with. At about 9.30 the florist turned up with a big bouquet and an Anniversary balloon. He looked at the card then at both of us, I said "she's Susan and I'm Mary." he looked at the card again, said "No, it's not for either of you," and walked out.

He was joking, it was for me, Susan's husband had given her flowers before he left for work, a fact we had already established.

I note how insensitive we men all are BUT ----

My first wife (The Model and Beauty Queen) once said to me "I'm leaving you -------

PACK ME A BAG !

The Children burst out laughing, and it all blew over.

after 20 years, she actually DID !

Once bitten and all that. If you're going to be moaned at anyway you might as well save the money!
Well here's a post from a bloke who makes an anniversary plan!

Andy, I salute you! You must never be at the end of a moan! :D I bet it was a lovely plan.

Just thinking of the time I received a bunch of daffodils because "they were reduced to 30p!!!!"

:(

Sometimes it works -- despite lack of understanding -----

When I was Courting (Nice old-fashioned word) the Blessed Anne, I bought a bunch of Daffodils, and left them in a bucket (Which I found behind the Garage) on her front doorstep. :x

The Ladies will shudder and ask why not wrapped in silver foil, and with a note ?

It still worked -- I got more "Dates" and we've "Bin tergevver nah fur 34 years --- an' it dont seem a day too much ! "

(The song should continue --- "There are several thousand Ladies living in this Land - which I'd swap for me dear old Dutch ! but TBA doesn't see this Forum !!) :x

Actually the song is rather Tragic -- and refers to the time when couples were split up, when entering Retirement Accommodation

Monday night, finished dinner, went into kitchen to tidy up and there sat on the side was a box of Thorntons moments, kindly bought by h2b because he wanted too! That was lovely and unexpected which is what romantic gestures should be

Harvey Smith was also an exponent of a 'gesture', though hardly romantic !

I think he only did it once -- to the judges -- how to win friends -- and competitions ?

I suppose everyone knows the alleged origin, relating to the Longbow men at Agincourt ?

alleged is exactly right. It's a load of spherical objects.
