2 very simple questions which hopefuly will get a yes or no answer and no more.

A) The appeal court or whomever equivalent can appeal for a sentence to be increased. Can an interested party (perhaps the victim) through a barrister effectively appeal for a longer sentence?
B) would the appeal court / equivalent even listen to such interested party if that party asked them to request an appeal?

I think the answer is 'Formally, no.'

Courts ask for a 'victim impact report', I believe. Better than nothing, but not the same thing.

You are right Michael.
I was at court for Husbands sentencing.
The victims statements made very harrowing listening. I have no doubt this influenced the sentence passed down by the Judge.
His leave for appeal was a waste of time from the start.
Unfortunately, the Court had no power to increase the sentence.
I'm reliably informed Sussex Police enquiries are ongoing.
