Off topic,so what. My old Siamese cross (sometimes a cross Siamese) used to talk to us all,and just nagges like mad if he didn't get the attention he felt he deserved.

If only you could see me, Scone boy, you'd realise I couldn't kick much, let alone ass. I have a black belt in ludo but that's about it! I can look quite stern though when I need to. That's usually enough to mobilise the forces into action.

Siamese are
VERY vocal.
Nothing wrong with Rotties or Staffies. Its always the owners that are the trouble. Proper training and TLC works wonders.

My beloved wife hates cats but me and my daughter love them
I completely understand why she hates them and it does not have any
bearing on my feelings for her
If you hate cats stand up and shout it from the rooftops
We need diversity or life would be more shallow
woah woah woah
my point was i DON'T hate cats
other people's cats are quite lovely, just pleased I don't have to look after them (bit like children, in small doses, actually no better then children, they're grim all the time)

I don't hate cats but I do hate the way they indiscriminately kill songbirds.
For that reason I discourage them as far as possible from coming in my garden since we like to "feed the birds tuppence a bag."
Not overly keen on dogs either for reasons similar to cj. Was attacked and bitten as a very small child. What REALLY annoys me is dog owners and the way they say "he's lovely really, he won't hurt you" as the thing is snarling and leaping up at you!
I guess JR is right. It's the owners not the animals who are at fault.

This is more of an aside from the cats conversation, but how could we stay on topic in this thread? How long can DBTS keep closing in? It will be like a permanent Jaws movie, and then I shall have to take up residency behind the sofa with fingers in my ears, eyes shut, humming loudly.
Please continue.

I thought we had accepted that Ruth was quite ambivalent about cats... neither loves nor hates them? This is a perfectly reasonable position in which to be (though to come back to the thread, what this has to do with DBTS is beyond me).
And those who blame dog owners (or cat owners, for that matter) for their phobias probably need to think again. When 'strangers' come to my house the dog is all over them like a rash because she wants more loving; one cat mooches round and then jumps up onto the arm of the chair, prepared to purr. The other cat is never anywhere to be found..... he has gone upstairs and hidden himself.
Ermmm.. how can anyone blame me for any of these behaviours, none of which are offensive or aggressive to the visitor?
