As those who know me know (esp re SIZE) I find all these references quite depressing......
I wish I could remember size 14 - but I always thought I had a 34" bust.
Going to lie down in a darkened room (again)...

Size Matters
Hmm, JR, you may joke but this is serious stuff! Sizing and fitting of a garment whether one is making or buying - crucial!J.R. wrote:.. and before it bust ?????englishangel wrote:size 14 was indeed a 36 inch bust
I've never grappled with Continental sizing, but was staggered, having measured myself to order a pair of American jeans, to find I was a "size 6"! Amazing. We are told that Marilyn Monroe was a size 16, but if this was an American size, she must have been quite a bit smaller.
A mistake I made whilst sewing at school was to buy the "Misses" size patterns. They were designed, I think, for women 5'6" tall, and I often bought too much fabric!

This Size 0 stuff is American which is about equivalent of a UK size 6.

Alan, I don't consider myself to be particularly 'religious', but I was so astonished by your need to share the dog's arse with the forum that I clicked on all the other links. Now I'm not sure whether to question your sense of humour or your intelligence. Or perhaps mine. If we all found the same things amusing, comedy wouldn't be very comic... but are they really the funniest links you could find?

Amateur Transplants - as you say, offensive but funny. Search for more of them on YouTube. I hate myself for it, but I do like the Sheila's Wheels parodyAlan P5age wrote:http://www.backingblair.com/london_underground (Strong offensive language used but very funny)

Nobody, but nobody could call Philip puritanical! Remember his "burning ring of fire" link? As for me, I worked at the side of enough colonoscopy couches to scream with laughter at most of the bottom jokes that have ever been passed - just the Jesus aspect of the dog's bottom that made me wince just a bit!
So I'm with Philip on this one...

Re: Interesting or funny links
On a more serious note (and interesting for me) I seem to remember that a few summers ago the government was distributing leaflets to every household which I think (I was in France) were about emergencies.
Does anyone remember this and what was being distributed? Given that nothing was delivered to this house I reckon it is about time the authorities were reminded that it should take a bit under a few years to walk from the town hall the one mile to my home so where the h**l is my copy?
Any info gratefully received. Might be fun if some limpwristed pip bespeckled rozzer takes it upon itself to be offended at my request for the document; I see a fight coming

Errrr.... Ladies??? Your kitchen??? Our dishwasher, in our kitchen, belongs to both him and me, and is a joint responsibility
It looks like fun, but if anyone bought one for me (rather than him or both of us) for Christmas or birthday, they'd get a thick ear
