It's totally amazing how the threads on this Forum morph into one arena and then into another....which then bears no resemblance to the original posting!

I know, it's brilliant isn't it?! Does make you wonder why we bother to have thread headings though. We should just have a free-for-all thread!

We tried that in the early days, you can guess where it went!

I've just come the Spiders' thread, where they are now talking about making jam... I love it!

I know, it's mad and brilliant at the same time isn't it? I thought this thread was now all about breadmakers and jam, but it appears it's spread onto another thread too!

Hey, Philip, think of something really, really obscure and we'll start chatting about it on this thread - any topic will do, anything apart from bread!

...it's why they are called "chat" rooms! How many chats do you have face-to-face on only one subject??

At least on this forum it's all friendly and helpful. I have joined another forum where several members seem to simply be there to abuse other posters. Sarcasm & bad language are rife. Fortunately, there is also a number of genuine, helpful & friendly people, so it is still worth popping in regularly for a chat.

It must be something to do with our education!

(and abuse & sarcasm if you happen ask a question that someone else thinks is obvious! Also, I'm afraid, the occasional racist comment, too which is a real shame on a site for immigrants! )

Right, I've done it under the 'moving to Finland' section and I've opened a thread called spiders. I'm interested to see what names I get called and just how abusive this will get.
