I just love the American comedian on American TV the other night that said there should be 11 commandments....

.... the 11th being, "Thou shalt not fiddle with altar-boys !"

There was complete silence in the audience for about two seconds, followed by cheering and clapping !

I'm afraid that I have come to the conclusion that "Fundamentalists" --- particularly the "Mental" bit, of whatever beliefs, are, possibly Ungodly !

On a happier note, I was singing Carols on Tuesday evening, outside the Church Coffee Shop -- and chose to sing the last chorus of "O come all ye Faithful", in the Latin --- "venite adoramus omnium" --- I then noticed that our Rector, Pamels, was singing next to me ---- she grinned at me and said "NOTED !"

At least we have a sense of humour in our church !

I absolutely love it, Alan................

........... though I'm sure there will be strong objections, mainly from within the Bible belt of the U.S.A.

How he can get away with this is amazing? Why is he not being sued?

I suppose it's their version of alternative comedy.

'Till Death Us Do Part', starring Warren Mitchell and Dandy Nicholls can no longer been shown because of the current culture of PC.

The irony is, that Warren Mitchell was poking fun at racism, but many people couldn't see that !

Thank you for the Galloping Major, Alan. I see from the comments that I am not the only person who is passing it down the family!

The male lyre bird is certainly the best bird-mimic in the world.

I did know someone in my distant past that owned a very vocal mynah bird that also imitated household sounds !

Maybe not such a small world - has anyone had any contact with Ajarn Philip, who started this topic? I hope he is OK. There will probably now be a rush of people assuring me that he is active on Facebook!!
