But back on topic

Plum, the photo of you and the missus in the Old Blue was lovely. You both looked fantastically happy (funny old thing that). Where was it taken? I don't recognise the stair case.

It's nice seeing photos like that. It is interesting to see who ends up where and with whom doing what. I wouldn't have recognised half of the people in the photo of Ben Bystry, Colin, Yimmo et al which was in the Old Blue if it didn't have a caption.

Sorry to double post and apologies for being a thickie - but what *is* Cordon Blue/Bleu?

I know about the blue ribbon for racing boats across the atlantic; I know about the cheffy blue ribbon competition; I know about those little wafer chocolate bars; I know about that special Cordon Blergh evening on scout camp - but what is it in the context of the Old Blue magazine? I've seen it in the Blue for eighteen years and still don't know.

You would have to ask someone more learned in the history of Old Blues and CH, but it was previously printed as part of the CH Club Directory.

In the September 1961 Blue, there is a section called "Le Cordon Bleu", (Overseas Sections of the Christ's Hospital Club).
I reorganised the list geographically and by House/Sports/Interests etc, and called it Cordon Bleu to cover everyone.

No doubt I will get into trademark problems etc, but it seems to fit the bill.

Ah, that wasn't taken at CH...

we got married at St Matthew's church in Redhill and what you see behind us is actually the pulpit!

We then got our car (an Austin Princess) down to CH to the reception in the Garden Quad and theatre whilst the majority of guests went on a Routemaster bus!
