I saw the picture.

His nerosurgeon said "Richard Hammond will be "back to his old self within six months.

He has had what I have already termed a significant brain injury.

He has to rest and allow his brain to recover and that takes time. I'm sure that once that period is over he will be back to his old self."

Asked when that might be, he said "in about six months' time".

I guess he gets the award for managing to be alive after the fastest car crash in the world - something Airton Senner didn;t manage, nor Campbell!

It will take a while for his brain to recover - this is probably why Top Gear has been postponed - although within the BBC there are calls to terminate the show altogether - which I think is not what anyone really wants...

I am on aol and they have had a poll about whether top gear should carry on

90% yes >35,000
8% no <3,000

I think it would be a good idea to show the crash, to show the dangers of speed, even in controlled conditions.

Perhaps we shall also be able to see the Guardian angel who was surely there.

If Hammy were a cat, I think he would be out of spare lives now. I think it might be useful to see that even people under controlled conditions can lose it so what hope do boy racers have?

they'd be so stupid to pull it - it'll be the most popular thing for a while, until we all get bored of it of course - thousands will watch... and we all (well most of us) want to see the footage anyway, can't see why they shouldn't

They have a willing formula in the presenting team. That will go on until the presenters get fed up with doing it

I think we've taken this topic full circle - and we all agree!

I agree, I wonder if threads can be closed so they don't fill too much database space?
