Angela, I know exactly who this post was aimed at, and all I can say is that it was unseasonable. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm happy to say that this year's version is a particularly nice one! It's all in the choice of dark chocolate - 1lb of it melted and blended with a pint of thick double cream! A huge bowlful of this thick glossy chocolate mixture is a particular treat to stir. A slosh or two of the liqueur of one's choice... it sets on a base of Amaretti biscuit into the lushest, richest, most luxurious wedge of smooth voluptuous chocolatey bliss...
I torte you'd like to know!
Happy Christmas Philip!

When my eldest son was 3, he had difficulty getting his little tricycle round the corner of the lounge door.
He got off, looked at it, and kicked the tyres--- remarking "Buddy ting-- Buddy ting !"
Apparantly this had been learned watching Daddy trying to get the car (A 1938 Opel Kapitan -- Wish I had it now !) started !
Moral : they hear everything !
The same "Child" now 55 once asked me,-- aged 17,-- "What's the point of Parents ? " --- I replied "To clear Overdrafts ! "
I am glad to say that he has had to do it for his own children ---- Hooray !
