It should be a good time - that's if the snow doesn't prevent me from getting there!

It (the predicted snow) shouldn't inhibit you, Matt. Watch this space for the other 24 who (on the CHOBA website) have signed up for the Choir tomorrow.
Fingers crossed all round.

I'm sorry I said that about the snow not stopping you getting there, Matt. I have seen the weather forecast and I am having second thoughts now! Don't want to get stranded on the way home.

Re: Carol Concert 2009
It was a great evening - the attendance was down on last year (don't know what it normally is) but the singing was still terrific. I met so many people - old friends, people from the forum that I'd never met in person (hello Jude, John Hopgood), people that I wish I'd had more time to speak to (I never did catch up with you again afterwards Kerren).
Shame Frances didn't make it, and there were a few other people I was expecting to see who weren't there. Did I miss DBTS or was he not there?
There was also mention of something planned for next year to mark the 25th anniversary of Hertford closing. I think it would be helpful to keep us abreast of developments in good time, before Hertford girls decide to do their own thing in the absence of news of official events.
That David Cooke is far too young to have been a Rear Admiral. Or am I just getting old?

A number of Surrey people decided not to come for fear of the bad weather (and I was uneasy but did get home safely!). Sorry I missed you again, Jo - and David wasn't there. He had sent apologies, got too much on tomorrow. Yes it was a great evening, and I am glad I made the effort.

Re: Carol Concert 2009
We emerged onto Piccadilly at 11pm to a light dusting of snow, and by the time we got home to the Chilterns there was about 4". It took us a half hour to slide the half mile home from the station.
This morning we have about 6 or 7 inches but the main road is clear and we have a high vehicle so husband made it to the station, though he did try first on foot.

Re: Carol Concert 2009
It was snowing as we left London last night but clear when we got home. However, have woken up to about a 4" layer in Milton Keynes. Which actually worked well for me as other half told me to stay in bed and he would walk to the station to save getting the car out. My reunion this evening with old work colleagues was due to take place in a pub way out in the countryside, so that's been postponed - now just need to work on one other appointment and I can stay indoors in the warm all day

I'm in the warm all day! There's about four inches here, and despite the sun it isn't melting. I'm glad I didn't linger in London last night (didn't even see you, Mary!) because within half an hour of my arrival home there was a howling blizzard which carried on and off until about 3.00 a.m. Then the snow came back for another couple of hours from about 5.00.
Oh well, no excuse now not to do the Christmas cards!
Happy Christmas everyone. Ho Ho Ho!
