There are hundreds of gulls here & I doubt if any one of them has ever seen the sea!

What a very handsome boy! I'm also hugely impressed by the perfectly manicured border

Well, Jo; I had just shaped and dug out a new flower bed and planted a polemonium caeruleum Alba. Of course a cat will always arrive, supervise and then writhe on one's current activity! This includes reading a paper, ironing or bedmaking...
Liz, perhaps, if Mary ever has time, she might post (small angushed wail) her methods for Posting a Precious Pet Pic? I've admired your HOGOF picture of adorable Kit the Ragdoll. Does he really lie limply and lovingly in your lap?
Mary, have mercy upon us!

TBA planted, very carefully, a row of Beet Spinach, which have grown, nicely, to abou 1 inch high.
As I approached the Greenhouse, this morning, I saw that they had all been scratched up and spread about.
We have no Meerkats or MoleRats, in our garden ------- nor any Grey Squirrels, since I "Disposed" of them
But if I catch the culprit, which is furry,
I shall be digging another hole !

Are you sure that the culprit is furry, Neill? We have a lot of nasty vicious blackbirds that throw stuff all over the garden. And then they sit on the fence and shout at their humans to get some food out a bit sharpish.

Sounds more like a feathered culprit to me.

I have examined the "Spoor", and, for the culprit to be feathered, it would have to have the A*******ole of an Ostrich !
I exaggerate --- but it ain't feathered.
We are now away for 3 weeks, on a Cruise, so I expect the worst on our return
