If it’s the case that Fleming (and potentially others) did escalate the reports and then felt able to do nothing further for fear of the system or for their jobs, then I’m even more disgusted with the leadership team. I don’t accept that this was the culture everywhere in the 90s, although it may have been the case at CH.

Poulton, Cairncross, Sillett, Fleming et al should be charged with something like facilitating pedophilic crimes for not reporting these crimes to the police and allowing the perpetrators to carry on to other schools. If they can't be charged the law needs to be changed. People in their positions need to be compelled to behave with decency even if they lack it.

Look - I am not seeking to justify stuff that happened. All I am saying is that I am very confident that Neil Fleming will have done the right thing in the context of the time.

Why do you say that? Are you Fleming?

Either Fleming did something with the information or he didn’t. If he didn’t, a teacher failed the victim. If he did, a senior member of staff failed the victim.

All three members of the leadership team admitted failures when it came to Karim.
