Hello Gemma
Are you talking about labelling 'children' as 'children' (my last post) - therefore a bit of a philosophical question?
Or are you talking about sewing labels onto garments, which is more of a practical and pragmatic question. You need labels on your kit to stop it falling into someone else's hands after it has been through a mass wash.... (or been left behind in a sports pavilion, music school, chapel, classroom, or even elsewhere in House.....or wherever else on a large campus).
Please clarify?!
At least you are no longer talking about soggy shoes which fall to bits when they get wet! And no I realise you can't sew labels into shoes....
Also we can't wait for your GCSE results....especially for DT....
Are you enjoying being a member of the Christ's Hospital family, already?

I mean labelling on clothes
.
There's this list of specific places that labels have to go on clothes and it's frustrating me having to check for each item since I'm attempting to sew as many on as possible before something comes up and my time is consumed. I only ordered 144 labels so hopefully that will be enough. though having to label socks etc will be the bane of my existence. I'm sure.
Yeah, I'm so glad that I have more interesting things to talk about and that I can actualy talk about CH from.......Experience. That experience was only a week but it was amazing!.
It's something like 30 days until my exam results. D.T is probably the one subject apart from science that I'm looking forward to least. I just know that I did terribly in it.
. The exams overall went o.k. But O.K isn't good enough sometimes. I suppose I'll have to wait.
They'll be posted on here immediately, well, once I've actualy woken up from feinting in Horrorand Despair.
I'm enjoying it sooo much!. I cannot wait to see what the next two years will bring.............

OH DEAR, Gemma... sewing labels in socks? Well, yes, I agree that such a job can be soul destroying (given that you must have dozens of socks and they come in pairs so the job is multiplied by two). You have my sympathy. Hope the rest of the labels are more meaningful. Can't you get someone to share the job with you?
And as for DT..... stuff it. I was only being provocative (but I am not trying to rival The Emperor.....). I guess you don't need a great result in DT to secure your place as a Deputy Grecian at CH? Hang in there...... I hope to meet you in person next year!!!!!

Yeah, Socks are the bane of my existence. I'm tempted to just wash them all myself and not sew name tags in. I have about in my collection 70 pairs of socks. Of course I won't be bringing them all but still........
My Mum is being sadistic. The only help she's giving me in regards to sewing is piling more and more clothes into the 'to be sewn' pile. Grrrrrrrr.
I only need 6 B's. D.T is a silly subject and the only reason I'm worrying about it is because it might look rubbish next to my other grades, oh and I spent so long on it, a foul mark would really really annoy me andmake me think I wasted my time.
I already have 1 A* in R.E which I took last year and I took 11 this year, so to be honest I only need to get 5 Bs and if I aim to only achieve that.....
I hope I can see you aswell. It would be lovely meeting you especially since you have been so amazingly helpful and kind. I still wear the badge on my jacket
( Josh is v. Jealous )

Stuff Josh's jealousy about the badge. He will NEVER be an 'Old Girl' of Christ's Hospital (let alone a 'new' one) - even if he does speak Elvish and knows famous rock stars intimately. (NB Josh I am NOT denigrating Rock School.... or your contribution to it).
I'm sure that when you (Gemma) get your rGCSE results they will be STUNNING. And we all know about your DT problems so if the result there is below par, blow that as well. We all know the reason.....................
Keep plodding on with the socks. We feel for you............

They are an extremely hard wearing pair of woollen socks that I think I got before we went to the Alps on my GE for DofE Silver hikes. Since then they have done many hundreds of miles on bikes and in boots in US, Canada, Bali, Austria, Iceland, Svalbard, Patagonia and of course the UK.
I have to say the 3 or 4 pairs I bought that year and the next really will not last that much longer, so perhaps I will have to go and buy some more for the next 20 years (and my better half will stop laughing at me having school tags in my socks - although she still wears her school hockey skirt to play in and that is nearly 25 years old!)
