Cough sweet
I'm not certain, but wasn't there a kind of lozenge, a bit like Fishermans Friends, called Victory. I thought "cough sweet" would calm Caroline down, but now I've mentioned fisherman. Did you see the film of "Captain Corelli"? With the handsome fisherman fiance?

does anyone remember the Friar's Balsam inhalations in the Infirmary, leaning over a black-encrusted (inside) marmalade jar, with a scratchy white towel over your head? And emerging with a red circle in your face..? Happy days......
