I can be fairly grown up and sensible in front of the kids with most things (thunderstorms, spiders, wasps, dodgy geezers) but it's the things that might harm them that sent me round the twist. Like crossing roads. My husband told me off for being nearly apoplectic with terror when Cora took a toddle away from us recently. Admittedly we were on Dartmoor and the nearest car was in Cornwall, but she could have been attacked by a charging sheep. Better a complete fit of the ab-dabs than a squished child, I said. Or words to that effect.

That's very true, I wholeheartedly agree. Not entirely sure of the relevance but that's never stopped anyone on the forum before...

Well, hands up who's not dropped something on the floor, scooped it up and dished it out to the waiting ravenous masses! I once dropped a casserole full of ratatouille onto the kitchen floor. After some tears and cursing, I gathered up what wasn't directly touching the floor, sprinkled some cheese over it, shoved it under the grill and Robert is your mother's brother. They were none the wiser. Besides, I've yet to prepare and consume a Christmas dinner when completely sober. I feel that it adds to the excitement of the day ...

I am a veteran Christmas Dinner drunk - do feel free to prepare me, Ruthie-Baby - this Christmas if you want. I tingle at the very thought!

I once picked my son up form his white-faced childminder in the middle of a thunderstorm (I love them), she said "Please take him quickly so I can get under the duvet".
I agree about being scared for your genes though.
I am quite happy with heights, but when I took my twins (about 15 at the time) I was the one glued to the walls while the kids happily leant on the railings and pointed out the sights.

see I even asked here (see 'A thought on self-moderation') and no one helped.
Oh yes, I remember which topic I had been in. Think I'm getting better at this not getting lost business. Hoorah!

I think so. Slightly.
Still think the Post a reply page should have the thread name on it. that way I'd be a whole lot less confused.

I know what you mean, that would actually make a lot of sense to have the thread named in replies
