So how often do you indulge in this type of exhibitionism, Huntertee? Have you recorded each and every occasion in your diary? Do you normally advertise yourself quite so blatantly?
Anyway, In Cornwall, we still prefer using smoke-signals. We find they are less intrusive and allow more leeway in interpretation than heavy drumming.

I drove at the exact speed limit and everyone was calling me a banker and hooting their horns, flashing headlights etcetera
I found the answer recently buying a tom tom thing which warns you of approaching cameras as well as directing you to where you are going
And it really works!
sends you into unfordable riveers and down unsuitable lanes you mean.
whatever happened to map reading?
I'm a bloke
Didn't you know we poor things can't multitask?

right and that takes us straight back to the topic of this post - date for your diary!
Not - It has to go rapidly down the lanes of sexual inuendo doesn't it> What is it with JR/RR/DBTS? Why is it you 3 are always the ones to smutty things? it isn't really all that pleasant - if you want to be smutty - go and do it by pm, and leave it out of the forum.
Yes now I have my buttons I am being serious. I just find that there are times when it gets out of hand - and pleas don't take that where it could go - try and remember that it is not just OB's in here, but CHOGA's and young Blues - so have a mind please.

I really think the odd bit of fun by 3 boys shouldn't neccessarily need a slap on the wrist
I know you have accused some of us for being a bit fruity but surely you have a bit of a sense of humour?
If not we shall surely obey but i really don't think anyone here is being unkind in any way

Hunteritus There is fruity as you put it - and then there is smut - I do have a sense of humour - but it grates when just about anything anyone types gets pulled down into a mire of sexual inuendos on a regular basis. It's how I feel - I am merely expressing what I feel - as we all do in here - and also as these are supposed to be respected members of CH (well DBTS esp) I think they should above all hold up the standard and not lower it into the sewers.

Well I suppose it is possible I missed the worst ones
DBTS is a beautiful poet and I would not have a word said against him
RR also is extremely witty and almost a CH institution so i would make allowances there
Who else, I wonder is the culprit?
If someone has erred they could only apologise if you show them what has made you unhappy

Thanks for that, Robin - but I certainly want to apologise if I have caused any offence to anybody. Jude is quite right - there are many on here with delicate sensibilities and I think we should respect that. I know that she uses the pm method to pass on some of JR's jokes to those she thinks will appreciate them rather than give them too public an airing. Perhaps this is the way forward with anything that might be considered a little bit risqué.
Or, as an alternative, we could ask Julian if it is possible for a part of the forum to be set aside for limited access for those posters of a more robust disposition. One might be able to opt in for this and in doing so recognise that "boys will be boys" in which case there would be no grounds for complaint as the rest of the threads could be kept as pure as the driven snow.
What do you think?

If I am one of the "sinners", I do apologise.

I will back Jude up in that there have been posts which I have definitely not appreciated and groaned at. The trouble is that we all have such fun going off at tangents that you never know when and where it will happen. You click on a thread which has been eminently respectable and you discover that in the time you have been earning your pennies it has been hi-jacked by the infantile mind.
Some of the time it does enliven but there are other times ....

Although I am no psychologist, there is, I suppose, some likelihood that (and I think it is probably truer of us males than the ladies!) when writing on an alumni forum we do regress somewhat into our childhood psyche. It is a noticeable trait of institutions like Rugby Clubs etc where a rather infantile blokishness often prevails.
Some of us (myself included) have freely admitted elsewhere on this forum that we sometimes have difficulty in acting or feeling our age! Perhaps we should learn to sink gracefully into our dotage.
(And this thread seems to have been well and truly hijacked!!)

Although we might look different (with our long white beards or whatever) are we really that different ????? - or is it that we just have to pretend to be grown up to get along in the big wide world.....

Essentially, we're not that different. Our characters may have been tempered by our experiences in the big wide world, but they were probably formed during our adolescent years at C.H.

Dr R Palmer told me on the day I left CH never to grow out of adolesence, life is far more fun that way. I have always tried to follow his teaching but it does drop me in the mire occasionally

Dr. R. Palmer (Pinky) pointed many of us in the direction of Derek & Clive, so it must be his fault, then!
(Except that he never taught J.R. or DBTS....)
