What is this sudden obsession with asking J.T. to close or lock threads?

If you're bored with a particular thread, just ignore it.

Anyway, it's sometimes useful to drag up an old thread without having to ask permission first.

I don't know if I'm alone in this but I've found myself doubting my spelling since I've had children.

My theory is that you see their mistakes and you then begin to doubt yourself.

Grammar

Sorry! Someone's just mentioned that!.

But it wasn't just the grammar and spelling - the content was fairly idiosyncratic as well:

I am really struggling with this, Amy.

How about
blondie95 wrote:exactly they way we all go off on one we need to keep them open so if we end up on a subject we can dig it out!
.... the plethora of unrelated pronouns leaves one positively gasping!

I even find myself attempting a precis to see if it makes more sense, e.g.:

Did you write like this when you were at C.H., or is it a recently acquired skill?

I believe this so-called "free expression" was positively encouraged by teachers in the 60s as a means of developing creative writing. I know, Amy, you are not of that vintage - indeed you are almost a grand-daughter of that generation - but your teachers may have been locked into this concept or something.

In defence of Amy surely posts to the forum are a quasi conversation often and in conversation one tends to be more colloquial than in writing.

That said if people start posting in text speak I shall SCREAM!!
