I presume you mean £450k, other wise I will be down in the morning

5 bed detached with gardens in semi rural Herts/Bucks will set you back at least £700k around here, and if there is any character it just goes up and up

You can still get a 3 bed terraced house for under £200k in the Medway Towns and Thanet Kent.

Late Georgian terraced house, 5 beds, 2 bathrooms, 3 receptions, cellar plus large garden - in need of some renovation - on the market here last year for £195,000.

Have you just moved or have you always been in Kent?

Oh well, won't be coming to be one of your neighbours!

Actually it's a bit close to the in-laws (Ashtead) so not good for me anyway

I was in Dorking this morning and out of interest, glanced in a couple of estate agents window.

The nearest house to the description above, albeit a 4 bed house, double garage AND in a private road was on the market for £725,000.

Interesting fact about Ashtead from the last census. It has more people over 65 years of age as a percentage of the total population than any other town/village in England.

A bit like Worthing or Eastbourne but without the sea.

The company that I worked for for 12 years had a depot in Oakham, yet I never got to visit it !

Acute-on-Chronic Anxiety State

Imagine my wail of agitation when I saw a For Sale Board (same agent) go up in a neighbour's garden!

This house is owned by a single woman - it has been unbattered by a family - new kitchen, new bathroom, new central heating, immaculate and gleaming AND only £7k more than our house...

Oh woe! Woe! What timing.

Only one thing to be done, Angela.

Sell your house, then buy hers!

But...

But Philip, we need to go to Devon. My father-in-law there is counting on me, and will need me soonish!

I can only hope that the Ms Perfect house sells really quickly and then I can hope all over again.

Expecting set of viewers at 14.30 hrs, so 20.30 your time please spin a prayer wheel for me!
