Thanks so much!. You have been so helpful that I can hardly explain.
* HUG*
It's only 2 days now, or one day depending how you count so I'm really excited........

It only seems like a minute ago you were in the middle of your exams and then the holidays were starting. I really hope that you enjoy your first term at CH and still feel by Christmas that it was the right decision for you.

Thanks, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it.
It seems almost yesterday that I was looking at the CH website and seriously considering it as a possible sixth form. It was a knife edge that I even looked at the website, a whim even.
Thank fate I did.

We are all really pleased for you Gemma.. and are looking forward to hearing of your school successes and also to commiserating with any disappointments along the line (which I hope would be minor!). Unfortunately I think you are the wrong gender to be chosen as Senior Grecian 2008-2009, but if you are in the right place at the right time you might just make Second Monitor. And if that were the case, how would it be if Josh were chosen as Senior Grecian. What a partnership!
I am just fantasising.. I would not wish any such additional responsibilities upon anyone. You just enjoy and make the most of your two years at CH. Us oldies are just jealous! I hope that the red suitcases can contain all you want to take this weekend, and that you will manage to manoeuvre them from home to CH.
I hope to meet up with you in two weeks time.
(PS do we yet know what Josh's GCSE results revealed....my breath is bated in that regard)

Hello everyone!. This is Josh speaking through Gemma. ( He's on the phone ).
I'm really pleased that you would not wish the role of Senior grecian upon me.

( Only Joking, I wouldn't get it anyway ).
I am, however, sure that Gemma would make an excellent S.M.
Anyway, back onto the big news, I am pleased to announce that I got 2 A*s 5 As and 4 Bs.
Thats all from me for a while - when I next post it will be me posting at CH.

OOOH dear Josh. It's time you got out of Shelley Wood and started taking things like academic achievements seriously for a while. No.. sorry.. only joking! I can't believe that we have yet another high achiever on this Forum. I think I will hang up my keyboard and retire into obscurity.
CONGRATULATIONS Josh....and I hope that you too will be supremely happy in your last two years. It would be good to meet you, too, on 16 September, if you choose to come to the Sung Evensong which will double as a Memorial Service to the Hertford Headmistress over 30 years 1942-1972. I promise that the Foundation Hymn is just one of many treats.....

Aren't we all?!
But I guess she is going to be a bit busy for a while.....(at least)
Good luck Gemma. Hope to see you a week on Sunday.

Hi everybody! I'm at CH at last! Honestly, I had been itching to get back here - was grinning wildly as I headed off to parade. I, and AFAIK Gemma, are doing well so far despite a bumpy start on the part of Miss Newlands when Matron couldn't find any of her uniform! However, all went according to plan eventually, and although I was mightily annoyed that there was no Foundation Hymnage at the Chapel service, all is well. A mighty thanks to Matt for the text - unfortunately I'm out of credit so I couldn't reply, but I passed on your best wishes to Gemma.
Housey!

Welcome back Josh.
Take good care of Gemma. I'm sure you will.
Did you manage to get to see 'Lord of the Rings' on the TV over the weekend ?

Well done on your results too, Josh. Look forward to hearing all the goss from (and about!) the two of you. It's 2.50 pm, so will you be in lessons now or running around on the rugby/hockey pitches? My daughter goes back into year 8 tomorrow - she has been itching to get back to school for weeks also. I, however, am distraught that the summer hols are over. I've always loved them, even with the children around. I've never been one of those parents who can't wait for them all to go back.
