According to this afternoon's BBC Five O'Clock News a party of British explorers has just reached the source of the Nile, having walked 4,000 (four thousand) miles in 8 (eight) days. Wow! Some walk! :!: :!: :!:

Haven't heard it but unless it is a hoax, someone is going to have to help me with the arithmetic.
4,000 miles in 8 days is presumambly 500 miles a day.

Top marathon runners do about 25 miles in 2 hours, hence 300 miles a day, non stop.

It don't add up, but then it is getting late and the brain cells are slowing down. And it's still the beginning of the month.
