Post a line or two of song lyrics - people can award themselves 3 points and a smug grin if they can name the song title, the artist(s) and the next line.......
From the cradle bars comes a beckoning voice
it sends you spinning, you have no choice...
You hear laughter cracking through the walls
it sends you spinning, you have no choice
Clue - this is from the 1980's......

Richard.
I think I'd better abstain from this thread. I have access to a very useful web-site, which I use regularly on another forum to amaze people with my knowledge of lyrics ! (Ho-ho-ho !)

I have a feeling it must be those other Public Schoolboys Pink & Floyd "Comfortably Numb".
Hope so as I am bored in the back of a strategy review meeting at work - why I bothered to go on the forum at this time I am not quite sure! (the wonders of wireless)

with the repetition of lines 2 and 4 its got to be some clever punk stuff - and its definately not queen - but otherwise havent got a clue.........

Oh all right, then, another clue needed.
Sid Vicious was the band's first drummer........

We have a winner!
Re. "Windmills" - well, it could be worse. Poor Tim's probably wandering around at work singing various Hi-NRG hits from the '80s!

Wailing? Definitely! (and a good thing, too....)
Miserable? Allegedly!
Ugly? A matter of opinion!

Oh come on - be serious. OK the make up and the 'look' was good ... but underneath all that....
anyway - here's a great song for you - nothing so obscure as yours...
(also giving away my age a bit...)
"Time takes a cigarette,
puts it in your mouth,
You pull on a finger, then another finger, then your cigarette......"

"Spellbound" wasn't that obscure - it made it on to "Top of the Pops"!
And are you suggesting that our Siouxsie used a trowel to achieve her look?
Mind you, she was from Bromley.....
