For anyone interested in Renaissance choral music, hubby and I are singing with a group called 'Voces' in a concert at Buckfast Abbey (South Devon) on Saturday 24 June, starting 7.30pm. Composers include Gesualdo, Palestrina, Vittoria, Josquin, Vals. Oh, and Bruckner ...!
And yes, the venue is where the infamous Buckie tonic wine, scourge of the streets of Glasgow, is made.

JR, to quote Basil Brush, "Boom, boom!"
It is a very picturesque part of the country, and the drive across Dartmoor to get there is just fantastic - having to dodge dozy sheep and perky ponies is quite amusing. The monk who is the organist at the abbey, played for the service we sang for a couple of weeks ago. He is 80 and still plays like a maniac!
