"Famous" People With Whom You've Worked

Driving to work this morning I heard "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry which reminded me that I worked for a short while with Mike Cole, their bass guitarist.
Other "famous" people I've encountered through work include Paddy Ashdown, shortly before he was first elected Liberal MP for Yeovil back in 1979, and Paddy Burt whom writes a weekly column called Room Service in the Travel Section of Saturday's Daily Telegraph.
What about you lot?? The forum's quiet with all the nice weather so I thought we needed a new thread.

I get to 'work with' quite a few celebs in my job. Basically, I pay them vast amounts of money and they do something of benefit to my company. Some are more 'celeb' than others!
Last week in Brighton - All of Razorlight, Fatboy Slim, Zoe Ball
Last week in London - Robert Plant, Erykah Badu, the Divine Comedy and the Lemonheads.
My favourites to date have been Richard and Judy.
Get me!

Way back in the 80s, I taught in Wimbledon. It was quite a posh school and amongst the fathers I met at Parents' Evenings were David Essex, ? Lake (of Emmerson, Lake & Palmer) and Anthony Andrews with his wife from the Simpsons of the Strand family. The daughters, particularly David Essex's were delightful children ( I am tempted to say surprisingly delightful!).

Many years ago I worked for a short time with Dudley Sutton's brother.
Dudley starred alongside Ian MacShane in 'Lovejoy', and played Tinker.

In 1993-ish, I spent a couple of days working with Julian Richards, TV and radio archaeologist. He was hilarious and had me in stitches. I've sung with Evelyn Tubb (soprano) and Nigel Perrin (King's Singers) and in front of Malcolm Rifkind. Does that count? Husband works with various types who keep appearing in the arts-oriented media - acquaintance by osmosis!

My husband does TV on a Saturday night.
If anyone is interested in horse-racing he does American Racing on Atthe races. Sky Channel 415.
I have met most of the racing guys and gals, including the ghastly McCririck.

Is he the complete knobhead that he comes across as whenever I've had the misfortune to stumble across him on TV?

Now it's got smaller. Why can't that happen in real life?

Having an interest in family history I thought Meet The Ancestors with Julian Richards was excellent.

Rumour has it that the guy who played Chewbacca is, or was, most of the time, a theatre porter at Kings.
If the rumour is true (have never been able to identify him within the carpet suit) then I used to work with Chewbacca. Not Han Solo, as my son once told someone, unfortunately

Yes, and the 'Booby' is a small, quiet, very sweet person, who when she is away from him is very, very funny.

So it's not all an act, then Mary ? He is a male chauvenist pig !
Not exactly what I would call a good advert for English

Exactly, but most of the rest of them are nice, John Francome and Derek Thompson spring to mind.

Henry Cooper when I worked for DHSS (armed branch as my husband claimed). He'd just made himself a Ltd Co. and I went to check that NHI contributions were in order (they were). He presented prizes at my daughter's school one year, and made a terrific speech that started " 'ead Master, ladies and gentlemen, stoodents - I 'ated school!"
