I have just become an official foster parent..........
to kittens! on behalf of the Cats Protection league! Today got my first phone call, and this afternoon a little 5-6 week old kitten has arrived! I have named her Indie (if she turns out to be a he - then Indiana Jones) as she is a real explorer! She was found up a tree in the Forest of Dean, by a man walking his (friendly and tail wagging thank goodness) Rotweiler.. near the Main Road! (A40 ish) I will try to reduce the picture of her and put her in --
Does anyone else have fostering experience both of the animal kind or children - I was fostered until I was 6yrs old - but I don't think I am quite well enough long enough to take children on....

Good for you Jude !
Sexing kittens is easy-peezy ! (Yup - Ok ! We bred cats for years !)
Up-end the little fella/lassie, so his/her rear legs drop apart.
Look for and feel for, (with a thumb, usually), for the tell-tale two little lumps. They are usually visable after around four weeks.
The water outlet on a female is a slit and near the smelly orifice.
On a male, it is smaller and circular, some distance from the orifice.
I have emailed you some info

Indie has no balls as it were - plus no little penis came out I think from having a good look she is a she - but ..... another kitten was thought to be a girl - named Petal... saw 4 DIFFERENT VETS!!! Went in to be spade - only to discover "she" was a "he" and was then neutered!
boy / girl at least on the whole humans are ok to work out (excpet my ex husband who thought the umbilical cord of our daughter was a willy.......) yes think on that!

I think Jude has snuck in and fixed it because I can now see a little fluff ball

She now has a name - Indie - after Indiana Jones, as she is into everything! I had her out for an hour this morning - (while I recovered from the home to Leeds and Leeds to home drive!) and she was everywhere! They are SO cute at this age - I have to fix a vet appointment for her - she is currently mewing pitifully behind me as I use the pc! the other cats are "Not amused"

S/he's lovely! I hope that you both, and any further additions to the household, have a great time together.

She is now happily flea sprayed, wormed and curled up in her pen - not a happy catty! Mind you a visit to the Vet is never really ones first thought of pleasure!
