It was a short while ago - about a week I think, when we were getting error messages - Ruth was having problems and started a thread I think - may be able to find it from that!

He did almost kill it though!!
I think it was an attempt to stop Sean getting buttons second time around! But hadn`t bargained with Sean`s ability to keep ALL threads alive - i wonder if any have actually gone before S. got to them??
Thanks JT.

Julian, the test forum you created had a little pop-up box saying there were new PMs when I logged on, and it sent an email telling me, too - does this have that facility? I thought the pop-up a good idea as you , well I, (!!)don`t always see the "you have 1 new message" bit

You should be able to set your profile to receive a pop up when you get a pm.

This setting here will give you the popup:-
profile.php?mode=profil&sub=profile_prefer&mod=1&msub=2
Not sure about email though - will try to find the setting somewhere...

You should now see a second option in the same window, to ask for notification..

Perhaps your economical way with words does not cause the server to become too breathless!
