Good for Fiona.

A very emotive subject, is domestic violence. So often, it seems to get swept under the carpet, if you'll excuse the analogy !

a lot more shocking is the true number of women who do not need to use a make-up artist to look like this.... against the number of women who report it

My younger son was considered deprived when he was at school.

In a sociology lesson each pupil had to give details of violence and the like that they had seen at home - Richard was the only one in the class who did not have incidents to recount such as chairs being broken over spouses, hidings and beatings-up etc.

Definitely deprived - needs a good clout round the lug-hole

My bro-in-law is a teacher and at the start of his career worked near his home. One day one of his pupils came in to say his 16 year old sister (who Alan had taught the year before) was getting married. When Alan expressed surprise at getting married so young the lad replied "'e's very good to 'er, 'e dun 'it 'er."
