But where should we go on our set-jetting roadtrip? I've stuck it on favourites for a browse at a later date.

The quaint village of Shere, between Dorking and Guildford seems to be very popular for film location work of late. And of course, Box Hill which overlooks Dorking has often been used !

I had heard that the British film industry was in a parlous stae but a grand total of 35 films since Brief Encounter provides the evidence.

I borrowed a little book from the library which went round our local arqa pointing out where places had been used in TV shows and films.

Of course we live in Midsomer so there were lots of those, (I even saw John Nettles in Tesco) and the More Than ad where the dog drove down a the hill and under the railway bridge was a combination of Chalfont St Peter and Chorleywood, both about 4 miles away, and of course the one on the map, Four Wedddings and a funeral at the Crown in Amersham.

sejintenej I don't think it is that parlous, if you look below the map you will see that they will add new locations each week. There are 30 Carry On films alone.

and many films, although not 'British' are filmed in large part in Britain. They are making a Batman film in the City of London at this very moment.
