Has anyone any good ideas about where to eat in Horsham? We know nothing about the town at all, and will be there for 3 nights- Friday just us, Saturday between 4 and 8 peoplen and Sunday just us again. All suggestions gratefully received.

If you like Italian, there are one or 2 good restaurants(Tortellini, Prezzo Pizza Express...)..) Chinese? Indian? Pub grub? Horsham has the lot! If you have transport , there are numerous pubs within easy driving distance that do good food. Depends what you want really!!

I don`t think this is by any means a definitive guide though, as one or 2 favourites aren`t listed.

I suppose it depends whether you want posh nosh or pub grub. For the latter we have always found that great down-market (ie relatively cheap eating for impoverished families) is the Beefeater which is conveniently attached to the Travel Inn. Even if not staying there, it has car parking facilities and a widish menu with particularly good steaks.

There are also, I believe, other places where you can pay a lot more for rather less.

The food in Pires Bar is extensive, reasonably priced with good portions !

NB - food at lunchtimes only in Piries, but quite a popular spot.

Re. restaurants - The Long Room is excellent, specialising in locally produced stuff: http://www.thelongroom.net/

The Malt Shovel pub does decent lunches (and excellent beer) :

Also in Springfield Road are the Raj Kumar (Indian) and Mr. Li's (Chinese), both pretty good.

For Thai, you could try The River Kwai in Market Square.

There's a Greek place too - George's, in the Carfax. I've only been there once, but it was rather good. No link, I'm afraid.
