were on the 10 pm ITV News tonight They are regularly reporting on their Trek. Tonight's report must have been about 5 minutes long.

They are both knackered unsurprisingly given the arduous nature of their journey.

I'm glad they are still going strong, especially with Rob falling through the ice or whatever happened...

Any more news on their progress?

How long was the venture anticipated to take?

I think they're in Ecuador. I had a look at their website, but I think it's a bit too clever for my steam-powered computer so I find it quite frustrating to use.

News of their progress seems to have pretty much vanished from the West Sussex County Times.

It makes Obi Wan Kenobi and Charlie Boreman look wussy.

Took me a while to work out the connection - my excuse being that I have just finished watching The Empire Strikes Back (the other four channels were screening Election Watch).

Did you get "Long Way Round" in Oz?

They are currently screening "Long Way Down" from John O'Groats to Capetown.

Indeedydoodee. In fact, there was a repeat on this evening at 8pm, but, having seen the whole series before, I forsook the adventurers to perve on a young and gorgeous Harrison.

We have also seen Charlie attempting to compete in the Paris - Dakar. What a strange man he is. Parky's interview with the pair of them was screened here recently. They spoke about Long Way Down, but it hasn't been screened here yet.

I have to say that I am not a fan of the production team, who were also responsible for Pamela Stephenson's series about jaunting around The South Seas in search of info about one of her ancestors. Not sure whether Pamela and Charlie are spoilt cry babies, or whether the production team chose to portray them that way. What I do know is that I would never sail with PS, and that she seemingly has a lot to learn about life and safety at sea.

According to their web site they were close to running out of funds. (http://www.180degrees.co.uk/180degrees.html)
Not sure what happened but they seem to be carrying on.
They appear to have switched from Chile to Argentina, via Bariloche, which is a very Swiss like town in the Andes on the Argentine side, reputed to be where a lot of Nazis ended up after the war. Its actually a very pretty town with some great chocolate shops.
It then says that they have reached the Atlantic Ocean, which means they are in Argentina as Chile only touches the Atlantic on Tierra del Fuego. (I did a trip from Puntarenas to Ushaia via the Beagle Channel so I know the area).
I asked them (or their back office) for an update to go in the Old Blue but got nothing so hopefully they are really busy on other things.
