JR gets everywhere!

I have been a tourist guide to friends from NZ today. Having ridden the Railway we went to Portmeirion and walked through the woods down to the sands - it was low tide.

What was the first thing I saw on the sand? The letters JR scratched out in a large circle. I looked for him everywhere around - where were you JR?

Whatever you fly or drive, you will feel the JR difference.

I found this on Google. Does anyone want to feel the difference? Could be good as a t-shirt slogan.

Feeling It

I've been feeling it for a while now. Every day and in every way.

And now when I see an unsuspecting guinea pig -

Quite topical really because on Monday JR Ewing got shot in Dallas that is currently being shown on UKGold.
(Not that I watch it, of course!)

Blimey shoz, you do pop up on the oddest threads.

My kids asked me who shot JR and I had to confess I don't know. Didn't watch it then, don't warch it now.

Sue Ellen did it. Just happened to have a "gern" in her purse.

Sorry to pop up unannounced but I like to see what's happening from time to time.

It was actually Kristin, Sue Ellen's sister that did the dastardly deed.

Sue Ellen?

No, you're right, it was Kristin. I just checked it out. But Britain simmered in the agony of not knowing for a whole summer. You could buy a "I shot JR" teeshirt in Oxford Street. I loved it. All in the worst possible taste.

Okay, so she didn't, but who cares? This gave me a big laugh!

I have never met Mr Rutley, so why was it that when I read Jeremy Clarkson's column in the Sunday Times today (re stocking tops and suspender belts), it was JRs name that came to mind?

It was a while ago now, Maggie, that JR expressed an interest - indeed, an overwhelming interest - in stockings and suspenders! These rapturous postings must have stayed in your excellent memory.

I don't remember in which topic, however. Could have been somewhere in our Hertford Memories? Although those stockings are best remembered with derisive mirth.

(Only this afternoon I was considering the glamour of the stockings to be found in the lingerie shops of Bangkok. Inspired by Philip, really.)
