Break the record

This may well not be a new idea (or a good one), but is "the membership" interested in arranging a time and date when as many of us as possible could be logged at the same time, to break that "45" record?
A weekend morning or afternoon would suit me best.
(I have little interest in records, but I'm desperately trying to think of a way to get Angela's mind off stockings...)

I think we shoulkd keep going. I hear sales are down over 50% in the last 2 years and if we don't do SOMETHING we won't be able to get them at all.

Horrified to read this Mary! I have had great trouble getting traditional black seamed stockings with the woven heel, it's true. When I investigated this, I was told that the machines that create them are now wearing out and going out of action! I've found some sometimes at John Lewis, and aren't you near one?
We'll soon be begging Philip to send us supplies from Bangkok!

Try your local charity shop--we usually have stockings (admittedly frequently of the support variety) but hey1 with 13 charity shops in the town, someone is bound to have them!

Home and leisure only. I know black seamed st*ckings could fall into the latter category but not at J.L.

It's getting serious. They have dumped black silk stockings from the inflation index because allegedly there was only one remaining UK manufacturer. Worse was that there was only one remaining group of customers - judges.
So, why not deck a copper in order to confront the judge and ask him where he gets his silk stockings from. Hilarity in court!!!

I thought about David's plan to "deck a copper" which did seem in some ways an appealing idea.
But before venturing out in the rain to select a constable I just thought I would try googling "Seamed Stockings" and kapow!
The Stockings HQ website seems particularly exciting, and there's even a Stockings Chat Room! (Might meet Philip there?)
So I shan't worry about consulting judges, or even the JL Dept. I might even branch out into satin topped, or sequinned seams.
Arrow straight, of course!
