Caroline, you may think this "moniker" a harmless bit of fun that neatly indicates your present whereabouts, but every time I see a posting from you I think of that bl**dy song. It wouldn't be so bad if I could think of anything more than the first line...

So I'm asking you nicely to change it. I should mention I've had several PMs from various members to the same effect, but they're both far too polite to mention it openly. Rather than take formal legal proceedings against you for intrusion of privacy and public nuisance, not to mention breach of copyright, I'm starting a petition in the hope that you'll see reason. After all, there are plenty of other cuddly little Aussie icons you could use.

I just can't get it out of my head...

That song is driving me crazy...

It's madness...

I'm all mixed up...

I'm getting brain damage

I am slowly going crazy...

Just keep taking the pills, dear - a nice lie-down and a cup of tea, and you'll feel much better...

Emergency!

Barbara's right!

Or I could make you something nice? A rich frothy chocolate mousse? With extra cream of course! Or a treacle tart?

You'll soon stop fretting, I promise!

You don't know Caroline, it suits her perfectly.

Perhaps I should change mine, after all although I AM English (with a lot of French and a bit of Romany) I am no angel.

You see, Caroline? You see? They all agree with me.

I`m glad I`m not the only one - always makes me think of vegemite sandwiches!

Philip, what song are you talking about? Perhaps you could tell me all about it.

"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder..."

I'd forgotten that line, but I rest my case, m'lud.

(But you're all missing the point!)

Sad to say it doesn't ring any bells with me at all. I was probably in Borneo at the time, World Service reception was erratic at times!

I don't know this song either!

But, honestly, Philip, it's best not to mess with Caroline.

Careful now!

The song doesn't mean anything to me at all, and I've been here all the time. You leave the lady to her moniker, young man.

Ditto - my only complaint is that she has succeeded in running 7 words together understandably, accurately and logically whereas I only got three words.

And I happen to LOVE vegemite... so, I'm sorry about that. My favourite is a croissant with butter and vegemite - and I take one to work with me most days, to have with my mid-morning cappucino. which I ask one of my colleagues to bring to me when they go to the coffee bar (if I were to get it, I would splosh it all about so badly when hobbling back to my office that it would not be recognisable as a coffee with a frothy top....).
I am so naieve that I make no connections with songs or verses or anything like that.. so please, yes, do leave Caroline alone. Leave me to my croissants, too....
