my favourite bottle of wine will now topple over the £5 mark courtsey of the 11p on wine
at least the car wont go up in tax and fuel has been delayer...phew!

but most of exciting of all for me (i work for a charity providing financial services to other charities as a researcher) the rate that charities can claim Gift Aid on donations will remain at 22% despite income tax going down to 20%!

I've yet to hear anyone say they will be BETTER off.

Is anyone ever better off from the Budget?

Don't take this the wrong way Amy but are you 100% sure about this?

I saw a number of articles in the run up to the budget expressing concern at how much charities stood to lose.

I've not had a chance to study the budget in detail yet but I've seen or heard nothing on the news about this particular aspect.

I heard it in the speech from the man himself and was glad. I do a lot of charity work and deal with Gift Aid so I was glad too.

We will be worse off.

I work for a charity who have had a high profile in highlighting the loss-if you look at todays press it is mentioned in many including our chief exec about how this will stop charities from loosing around £90m

This bunch of theiving gits has chosen to retrospectively tax us based on 'green principles'. This means people sho choose to drive big cars like me get walloped (so be it, I can afford it but I am not happy) as my tax bill will go to £440 a year.

My other half sho drives a small 1.6 Hyundai Automatic, a responsible family car will pay £300 - WHY?

Unsurprisingly only the gas guzzlers were mentioned in the budget, the fact that the vast majority of family cars will also get whacked wasn't even mentioned.
