Just wandered if anyone had bee watching wimbledon this year? I personally think its been quite good so far, a number of seeds have gone out to 'no-ones' so far! And we have a new british tennis star emrging (and can i say a rather good looking one).
my money is still on federer though-plays so beautifully and elgantly as for the women as long as its not a wiliams sister

I think this is who blondie is talking about.
This is in reply to a post by Munch which seems to have disappeared, though she is on this forum as I type.

Seen bits and pieces. For somebody who professed no interest in the football in England's absence I've watched (and enjoyed) an awful lot of it! That has curtailed my tennis watching a bit.
For me nobody will ever quite match Borg, Mcenroe and Connors but that is probably a generational thing. However Federer and Nadal are very, very good players and well worth watching.
Just as long as that English hating Scottish tw** loses then I'll be happy! Come back Tiger Tim all is forgiven!
I think it's looking increasingly likely a Williams will win or go close with the number 1 seed losing today. Mind you our girl Anna keothong or whatever her name is did well against Venus in the first set.

Er - I posted - frankly - about the looks of that English-hating Scottish twot (good-looking???) then speedily deleted it in case I should hurt the feelings of anyone who is his fan.
Then Mary reminded me about the actually good-looking one!

Was lucky enough for HWMBI to have scored 'corporate' tickets for Stella final - always thought he was pretty hot but in the flesh Nadal looks about 12 so have quite gone off him!!

I saw a fair bit of Nadal v Keifer earlier on.
Nadal will take some stopping if he can reproduce that form.

Oh, but Alan -

bar chris eaton i have watched the tennis........although i have been informed by firends that Andy Roddick has a fairly good behind! But in the ladies game there is a lot of 'totty for the male spectators!
For those who watch the tennis it has so far been a good wimbledon,..... lots of top seed going out early on in thrilling matches
The fiance said about 6weeks ago...'im not going to watch any of euro 2008 as england arent in it....he was seen some of every match and even i have watched the quarter, semi finals and am now going to sit through the final!

When it came to the crunch I bottled it!
It goes against the grain not to support the British player even if I don't like him!
You have to give the guy credit for battling back from 2 sets and 5-4 down....

Even the Aussies were supporting Murray by the end. I must say those guys must eat a lot of carrots.

I prefer Mr Murray to Tiger Tim, and for one good reason.
If you'll pardon the expression, he's got
'far more balls' !
Two sets down yesterday, and still came back to win. Probably the best match I've watched for years, and I don't normally get so engrossed in tennis !

I don't watch tennis - but I watched that game - what a match!

Just watched Andy interviewed on BBC News.
He reminds me very much of a young John SuperMac, which can't be bad !
