I guess soemone had to start this topic and as we've got them for the next 20 days or so, I hope there will be many entries covering all areas!
The games have started! yes the women's football is up and running but the favourites, those USA gals, have come unstuck 2-0 against Norway...
Some female Indian weightlifter has been banned because of a steroid trace during a spot drugs test...
Nothing hanges then in sport.....

We were in Tokyo for the last olympic games, and we discovered all kinds of sports that we'd never seen in olympic coverage before. The children were quite confused ...

My tenuous Olympic link is that the 100 metres sprinter, Montell Douglas, is a good friend of my niece.

Really interesting to see what sports are concentrated on by nation's channels...of course we all know about the US getting the prime time on the swimming. Can you believe that they had enough paying power to make sure that the finals wer duirng prime time US: Money can buy...
Anyway living in the crossroads of europe, i get access to french, german, belgian and lux tv so have a large access to
many disciplines but of course i am referring to weekend viewing as at office i have to rely on Internet. Suffice to say the Frecnh and belgians gave a lot of air time to the road race won by a Welsh lady (most excellent); the germans showed the China-US basketball match and the Lux TV hasn't quite worked out what to do.
As a male chauvinist beach volley please!!!!!
Actually as an ex athlete under JMC, bring on the track and field...

I couldnt believe it today, i got up to find a british girl had got a gold in the pool-and not even her best event stopping the american from trying to get a ludicrous amount.
The diving with the 14year old was a shame but he is only 14! What i couldnt belive was the blame his diving partner put on him because they came 8th-i think sour grapes by 2012 he will be 30 and the young lad will be 18!
