Isle of Lewis

I've just heard the wonderful statement that the Isle of Lewis is no place for a young osprey at this time of the year. (Radio 4, World on the Move)

It conjured up ideas of ospreys raving there - can anyone enlighten me, or suggest where would be a better place for a young osprey?

I have never been to the Isle of Lewis, so am casting no aspersions on it.

How interesting, Katharine!

I wonder whatever troubles the young ospreys? Housing problems, parental negligence, bullying, poor educational opportunities, restrictive practices, back-on-the-nest curfews, intrusive TV crews?

Or, as you say, "raven" adult birds?

I do hope somebody can eggsplain! (Sorry, I'll get me birdwatcher's anorak, as JR might say...)
