Caustic Soda Rapists

I can't think of another thread in which to place this.

I'm utterly sickened by the details of this case. What monsters could do this to a young girl? Even in court they jeered, sneered and showed no contrition. The girl will be physically disfigured for the rest of her life and the damage done to her mentally is hideous.

Maximum sentence nine years? I can hardly believe it.

Sorry, everyone, I'm ranting away, but......!!! I'll stop.

Angela, the 6pm news had the glad tidings that the Attourney General is considering an appeal, on the ground that the sentences were too lenient. Let's hope he does more than consider!

The poor girl has a mental age of just 8, and is now scarred physically and mentally. The reaction in this house was "What's wrong with hanging?"

Similar comments in the Palmer household. It seems to have been forgotten that one of the purposes of a justice sytem is to protect society from people who are a danger to the public. It is very difficult to believe that there will ever be a time that these criminals are no longer a danger to the rest of us.

I think my thoughts on such a subject are already very well known.

St Kitts might be a good place to look.

No co-operation from the Haringey locals.

And there were ten in the gang - seven of whom ran away. Filming the rape on their mobiles.

I suppose they will spend time in jail supplied with computers and Play Stations, and emerge as even more wicked vicious automata. I'm a woolly liberal centrist, but even I have been thinking that this lot left alive is dangerous and pointless.

Heartbreaking that the victim has tried to forgive them.

I despair at the depravity of some people.

I am totally against the death penalty but cases like this do make me think whether I am right to be so.

I hardly dare to comment !
Consider, however, that there are people who are in Prison, who have a similar view to us.
One of my Uncles was a Chief Officer in Parkhurst and Wandsworth, he told me that when a particularly nasty prisoner arrived, the supervising Officer might say "I'm just going down the corridor lads --- be good, won't you ? " and return, to assist in the transfer to the PRISON Hospital, where life was not, even then, a happy time !
I suppose that, now, the Officer would be sued ! I'm afraid I am steadily becoming more and more despairing with Age :( :( :(
SIC TRANSIT GLORIA !
(Gloria's been sick in the Transit !)
