Unofficial Christ's Hospital Forum

In the days of steam, the Southern Railway built a class of locmotives named after great schools, one of which was, of course, Christ's Hospital. Each loco bore its name on two large, curved brass plates, one either side of the boiler. One of the Christ's Hospital plates is in the Museum - does anyone know the whereabouts of the other, please?

There was one on the wall of the model railway room behind the CDT department... I don't know if that's the one now in the museum...

The model railway room also had the old clock that used to be at CH station in its grander days...

Somewhere there should be the smokebox number plate 30913, unless it was scrapped with the engine at Eastleigh in 1962.

When I was last at the scout hut, just at the end of term, I noticed the model railway has now gone from the model railway room and it seemed to be full of boxes and old photocopiers... maybe the name plate has moved...

I don't know if horndub is interested, but there are four OO compatible 30913 Christ's Hospital engine nameplates for sale on ebay at the moment.
