Esther Green RIP
You will be sad to hear that Esther Green died on Tuesday. Esther was a long-standing matron of Barnes and, in semi-retirement, of most other blocks. She also served in the tuck shop. She helped IHT with the annual u13 cricket tour to Devon. She was in Guernsey with her family and she will be buried there.
Still round the corner there may wait

Re: Esther Green RIP
If anyone has further details or would like to post an obituary, I'll be happy to include it in the next issue of The Old Blue.

Re: Esther Green RIP
Does anyone know if Esther was matron in BaB in the mid/late 1980's?

Re: Esther Green RIP
Yes I think she was - she had been in the boys house when I started, and then moved back into the girls house after refurbishment after a stint (I think) in Thornton (we went to Middleton and Jesse Rawson)

I'm not sure if she was in BaB when I was or not. I remember a "younger" matron (whose name I really can't remember but whose face I can picture) but also have a vague recollection of another matron
