What a great trouper! the BBC thing says he was rarely on TV but he certainly made a big impression on me.

For the younger members of the forum, think a very refined Lily Savage. I am sure Paul O'Grady will pay tribute to him.

A sad loss, but 81 was a good age.

Paul O'Grady will definitely pay tribute. Danny was his inspiration for Lily.

As Mary says, a much bawdy version.

I met him at Streatley ---- good Pub.
I was living at Benson------Up River.

His humour was daring, for his time, but acceptable and hilarious.
A loss to all of us !
