The son of friends has gone missing. As he has depression and nobody knows whether he is taking his medication they are very concerned. You can see details here, and distribute to anyone you may know.

In November/December 2005 our younger son went missing, and was eventually found. I know just what h*ll the family will be going through, even the memory brings tears to my eyes. He also had a history of depression, we have never learnt where he was, I suspect he has no idea.

Katharine how awful for you and your friends - I will put the link on my Facebook page and strongly recommend anyone else who has a FB entity to do the same thing and send it out to all your friends, you just never know. Fingers x'd.

I just don't know what to say !
The only suggestion I have is that as his car was found in London, it might be an idea to contact the Salvation Army in the Capital. They sometimes work wonders !

I have sent it to all my friends in and around the capital especially my son whose network is even larger than mine.

Just had a look at the link and it appears he has been found safe and well!

Can't imagine what his friends and family have just been through, they must be so relieved.

Thanks all, I have been out all day and this is the first I had heard that he had been found, great news. I knew I could count on OBs to help.

Ditto to all, very glad both for them and for you K. As I said to my FB lists when I knew that he'd been found, he wasn't my family and he wasn't theirs but the point is that he could have been.

Very true, Gerrie, I haven't heard how he was found, but however it was this kind of thing shows the real power of the internet. The fact he was missing could be spread far and wide and people be alerted.
I know we sometimes get the scams of the child found after the tsunami etc going the rounds, but I am glad that we can use it for good. When Patrick was missing we never thought to use it, but now just a few years later it would be very different, and I am sure we would have been advised to do so.

Actually the child found after the tsunami was not a scam. I emailed the the source of the email (an Australian police officer whose address was on the email I received six months later) and got a very nice reply that she had in fact been reunited with her Swedish family (some had died but others were looking for her) about 3 days after the original alert went out.

Sorry Mary, I had been informed by a usually reliable source that it was a scam, it certainly stayed 'live' for a long time.
