Let's hope not, I'd like to see some of the more "adventurous" liars get sent down for a long time and I'm certain that "Lady"thingy and The "Honourable" member for wherever would have a lovely time in jail.

Agreed and it is only a handful out of the +/- 500 (out of about 600 MPs) who seem to have had their hands in the till.

Equally, it is MPs who are going to appoint the "independent" auditors who will be under no illusions that if the don't approve what they are told to OK then other auditors wil replace them. This is of course a smoke-screen; the existing Pay Office approved all the "doubtful" expenses simply because they were within the rules set up by Parliament and allegedly told MPs how to work the system to extract the last shekel. That same parliament is going to set the rules which the "independent" auditors will have to work from; a bit like giving the safe key to a th**f.

Yesterdays 'Daily Mail' had four pages of interesting facts extracted from the publication.

I agree, with much of what has been posted - BUT -- My MP published ALL her claims, before the Telegraph could publish any innuendo ---- Eventually they "Got" her, on the fact that she hadn't "Denounced the fraudsters in Parliament "

In my early nursing days, I remember that, when a doctor signed a Death Certificate, they were paid £27-something tax-free from the Hospital Accounts desk. It was called "Ash Cash". That was the Seventies...

I wonder what Ash Cash is these days?
