I'm sure you have all read the mornings headlines of MJ death this early morning of an apparent heart attack.
For those of us who were 80s era, the pop icon was everywhere and Thriller (1982) still remains the best selling album ever.
Despite all the flak around his personal life and some lude activities with kids, his talent can not be questioned.
What was your favourite MJ song?
Mine: Beat It

Wasn't that about a rat? Or was it backing music to a film about a rat?

Oh yes, Ben. Makes me cry every time I hear it. Does anybody remember 'That's Life'? They followed the story of a young boy called Ben who had a terminal illness. When he died they re-released the song to raise money for charity, and it always makes me think of that poor boy and his family when I hear the song

I have to admit liking his music and stage shows.
His personal life however, was rather controversial.

Apparently he didn't die of a heart attack, he had a stroke on the children's ward.
He fell over his son's pushchair and they are blaming it on the buggy.
What is the difference between Michael Jackson and Sir Alex Ferguson? Ferguson will be playing Giggs in August.

(I heard the news at 6.15 this morning when I got up and turned on the news. By 8am I had 2 of the above jokes texted to me!)
Plus this one:
But how ironic is it that Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on the same day? One played with a Major, and the other played with a Minor!

And this one:
Actually they did manage to resuscitate Michael, but as they were wheeling him past the children's ward he went stiff!

Farrah Fawcett arrived in Heaven and was asked what she would wish for; she had done a lot of work with the NSPCC (or US equivalent) so she said that she wished for all children to be safe; just then Michael Jackson died suddenly of a heart attack.

Beat it, by far the best song, closely followed by smooth criminal
We actually have tickets to see him on the 24th July, which we were really looking forward too
Its just very tragic and its sad to see the media specultaitng left right and centre about what and who caused it. Over the last few years it been clear he was increncreidbly frail and when he announced the tour im sure everyone wondered whether or not he could do it. Im sure the pressue of these concerts had a serious affect upon him.

I suppose that all the posts on this subject, reflect the vastly differing views on him.
Rather like Marmite !
I don't know who Lesley Sarony is, or was, but the joke about the cough and the coffin was current when I was at CH --- in the 40s !
